Level 1 food safety is aimed for those employees new in their catering job or has less experience in their job with catering. This course focuses on the importance of not only food safety in the catering but also hospitality which will provide food handlers with knowledge of how will they contribute to the product safety. Before they start their work for the first time, food handlers need to know the hazards and controls related to food in catering operation. Some topics to be discussed that are necessary to food caterers ould be: preventing contamination, temperature abuse to food, and the removal of bacteria through thorough cooking.
This course will train your employees to give them increased awareness of the dangerous effects that poor food safety standards can give. This course will cover food safety risks, how to control them, and prevent them. In summary, food caterers must maintain a safe, secure, and hygienic working evironment, work effectively to create a hospitable team, maintain food safety when cooking, preparing, or storing the food. When the standard knowledge learned from this course is applied, it will enable you to provide safe food which will asist the employer’s obligation in complying with the law.

- New employees (Minimal or no prior knowledge in food safety)
- Employees handling wrapped foods
- Front of house employees (ex. waiting or check out staff)
- Back of house employees (ex. Kitchen porters or warehouse staff)
