Product Description

Incorrect manual handling is the most common cause of injury at any workplace. This report was confirmed and was therefore managed by the Europa government through making a new legislation for it. Manual handling is any activity that involves lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, carrying, restraining, or holding any object or equipment, be it heavy or fragile. If such work is done badly, it may lead to injury, fatality, or costly damage. Manual handling is a task that needs planning, proper orientation, and adequate instructions.

Employers and employees must consider the risk assessment of manual handling. This includes gathering information about the object or equipment that needs manual handling such as its load weight, load size, quantity, and level of fragility. Another is identifying the key stages of the task to be performed and its possible risks. It is also important to come up with aids when the risks take place and to consider mechanical equipment as alternatives.

When manual handling is the only option in the workplace, the following should be taken into consideration to reduce the risks of injury, disability, or even fatality;

  • reducing the size of the load to make it lighter and easier to lift,
  • developing the environment to make the task convenient and safer,
  • assessing the ability of the person tasked to do manual handling.

This course aims to have your employees earn a better awareness of the dangers that poor manual handling may bring. This course will also cover techniques for handling safe and practical solutions to issues in manual handling, and the use of mechanical tools for aid.
